Martha Müller-Lüthi was born in 1924 and raised up in Linden near Oberdiessbach.
On returning from Ethiopia in 1946 she dedicated herself increasingly to pursuing her training in architecture. Examples of her spatial and visual imagination can be found at the Fondation Maurice E. Müller and the clockmakers’ centre for the disabled in Biel.
Her love of music was evident in her support of a number of projects with the Camerata Lysy and gifted students of music of the International Menuhin Music Academy.
Her creative interests were reflected in her generosity towards modern painters and sculptors. Her natural affinity with culture led her, together with her husband, to a common vision, the Zentrum Paul Klee project, in a new building at Schöngrün: a project so attractive that it enlisted Renzo Piano.
In 2002 the founder of the Zentrum Paul Klee agreed to show part of her collection to the public (Sculpture Park).
Martha Müller-Lüthi died in Aprile 2007 at the age of 83.
