After the preliminary draft of 1999, which focused on the external points of references of the planned Zentrum Paul Klee (the site as a Landscape Sculpture), the Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) began intensive work on the interior architecture of the Zentrum Paul Klee during the months that followed. The results of the layout work are set out in the preliminary project of June 2000.
The City Planning Office then worked closely with the RPBW on the concepts for planning and development. Issues relating to landscaping, parking spaces and an access ramp for pedestrians and cyclists were also fine-tuned on the basis of Piano’s preliminary project.
