(Time Windows of Sound. I Salonisti – An encounter with Klee.)
A concert by the Bern quintet I Salonisti, with works from the period 1879 to 2005.
The program spans the spectrum from the romantic period to the present. The pieces performed have been selected specifically to reflect Paul Klee’s intellectual approach and aesthetics.
While the music is performed, paintings by Paul Klee are to be projected onto the wall, creating references between the music and the paintings – an inspiring and unrestricted form of interplay between sight and sound.
In a statement projected on to the screen the architect Renzo Piano will address the audience. His words will bring listeners back to the present, to the reality of the newly opened Zentrum Paul Klee.
With works by Alexander Zemlinsky, Igor Stravinsky, Dimitri Shostakovich, Erik Satie, Erwin Schulhoff, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Simon Hostettler and others.
