(Miniatures in a crossover format.)
Twelve selected songs in a new arrangement by Martin Schrack.
American composer Cole Porter (1891–1964) is best known for his musicals (Kiss me Kate, Anything Goes, High Society) and for the interpretation of his songs by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra. Cole Porter was a contemporary of Paul Klee and like Klee a language virtuoso with a keen eye for fine detail.
American jazz vocalist Sandy Patton now resides in Bern, and here she presents a selection of Cole Porter songs specially rearranged and orchestrated for the official opening of the Zentrum Paul Klee by German pianist and arranger Martin Schrack.
The Jazz Rhythm Section and the Swiss Chamber Orchestra create an exciting combination of improvisation and set pieces.
Directed by: Kaspar Zehnder. Vocals: Sandy Patton. Rhythm Section: Martin Schrack, David Elias, Thomas Dürst. Swiss Chamber Orchestra.
