The Camerata Lysy Gstaad is a string ensemble of 16 to 20 musicians from all over the world, and is the concertante department of the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad and Blonay, Switzerland.
These highly qualified musicians, many of them prize winners at major international competitions, perform both as soloists and as members of the chamber orchestra. The ensemble was founded in 1977 by its artistic director, Alberto Lysy.
Camerata Lysy Gstaad is recognised worldwide as one of the best chamber orchestras, not just for its technical brilliance but also for the freshness and spontaneity of its musicality. Its vast repertoire includes works from the 17th century to the present. The ensemble is renowned for its versatility, performing concerts in a wide range of combinations from duet to full chamber orchestra.
The Camerata Lysy Gstaad is sought after all over the world, performing at all the leading music centres and festivals such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Edinburgh Festival, the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, and on tours through many countries of Europe, North and South America, the Far East and Africa.
Camerata Lysy Gstaad is of particular significance to the Zentrum Paul Klee through its friendship with the Müller founder family. The Zentrum Paul Klee is grateful to the Müller family for their support in realizing the concert.
