Meisterkonzert Mischa and Lily Maisky

Sunday 28. march 2010, 17 h

Mischa Maisky, violoncello
Lily Maisky, piano

Concerts given by Mischa and Lily Maisky are greeted with unanimous acclaim by audiences and press alike. «…a more homogenous duo is hard to imagine (…) a gently iridescent insight, born of intimate knowledge of the music and an understanding of it that is perceptibly coherent.»
(Süddeutsche Zeitung)
Accompanied by his daughter Lily (*1987) at the piano, the internationally renowned, multi award-winning cellist will be presenting a mixed programme of Romantic and Russian Modernist works. Ranked amongst the top cellists of the world, Maisky is known for defying convention – he is unique in having studied under both Mstislav Rostropovitsch and Gregor Piatigorsky. Meanwhile he himself has become a cello legend. His authentic, highly expressive style and uncompromising devotion to the music are unforgettable.
