Matteis Project Ensemble – Baroque ReImagined An exceptionally beautiful blend of pop, jazz and baroque. Transbaroque – the quest for inner references between music of a bygone age and contemporary styles. Etienne Abelin, Artistic Director/Violin Maurizio Grandinetti, E-Gitarre André Buser: E-Bass Florian Arbenz: Drums Patrik Zosso: Electronics More than 300 years ago Nicola Matteis was delighting audiences in Italy and London with his impassioned violin playing. However, he left only sketchy notation of his music, which remains something of a mystery. The Matteis Project Ensemble set itself the task of deciphering the composer’s work by interpreting his baroque idiom using other styles. This is a quest for inner references between music of a bygone age and contemporary styles, one that leads to an exceptionally beautiful blend of pop, jazz and baroque, which the ensemble calls Transbaroque. www.matteisproject.com Entry: CHF 38/28/18 Entry including an exhibition ticket: CHF 48/38/28 Ticket: www.kulturticket.ch, Tel. 0900 585 887 (1.20/Min)
