Musical soirees chez Klee.

Amateur musicians showcase their talents as part of the exhibition «Paul Klee. Life Work and Responses».

Quintet in the studio of Heinrich Knirr's art school, Munich

Paul Klee was an impassioned amateur musician. Professionals with whom he played chamber music or on ad-hoc evenings in Munich and Bern said his playing of Mozart and Bach was of an exceptionally high order. He would also play his violin before painting by way of warming up.
On display at the exhibition «Paul Klee. Life Work and Responses are Klee’s violin and his wife
Lily’s grand piano. The amateur music scene with its wide range of ensembles and instrumentation remains as lively as ever. Some of these ensembles will be playing as part of the exhibition.
